Sanette Hunter began her martial arts journey in 1991 at the age of 17 and trained and competed for nearly a decade before taking a break from martial arts in 2000. In January 2020, she returned to martial arts and resumed her passion for training, teaching, and competition. Her development as a martial artist and instructor was shaped by respected instructors Steven Glinka, Mike Humphry, and Charles Humphry, as well as seminars led by renowned martial artist Joe Lewis. Throughout her instructional career, she has taught classes including Women’s Self-Defense and Cardio Kickboxing while mentoring students of all ages and skill levels.
Since returning in 2020, she has continued her commitment to martial arts by teaching and assisting Grand Master Brant Rogers. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she demonstrated dedication and adaptability by transforming her garage into a training space so students could continue their martial arts education. When in-person training resumed in August 2021, she returned to assisting with instruction and began helping teach competition classes alongside her son, Landon.
Her return to competition has been marked by significant accomplishments. She earned the distinction of State Champion in Forms in both the AOK and TKO Karate Leagues and went on to become the TKO Karate League World Champion in Forms in both 2024 and 2025, earning back-to-back World Championship titles. She continues to train and compete at a high level and is currently working toward the 2026 State and World Championship titles. Her achievements reflect her discipline, perseverance, and dedication to martial arts, while her work as an instructor allows her to share her experience and passion with the next generation of martial artists.
